Being an indie kid in the 90s meant a staple of Grunge, Britpop and Tarantino movies. I watched True Romance for what could be the hundredth time the other night and of course was reminded just how much I love Alabama Worley. Growing up in the 90s, watching this film on a grainy, copied VHS (when we were way too young) felt super edgy and we just couldn’t help getting a little obsessed. It was one of the first grown-up movies that I saw and watching it felt like a small rite of passage as if we were entering into a new, exciting but unknowable age. So True Romance will always have a special place in my heart, and Alabama is directly responsible for my refusal to lay off the leopard print – she’s just so cool.
